For sale is a 1989 Ford Mustang LX, a third-generation Fox Body project built with serious drag racing potential. Originally equipped with a 2.3L four-cylinder engine and an automatic transmission, this Mustang has been transformed into a dedicated race car featuring a 4.6L DOHC V8 engine and a Jerico four-speed manual transmission.

The engine setup includes forged JE flat-top pistons, Manley H-beam connecting rods, a forged eight-bolt crankshaft, ARP fasteners, MLS head gaskets, aftermarket camshafts, adjustable cam gears, and a Sullivan intake manifold with a Holley carburetor. Additional equipment includes a Centerforce clutch, aluminum radiator, electric cooling fans, and a direct-port nitrous system that is included but not yet installed.

Built for the drag strip, the car features a 25.5-spec roll cage with a Funny Car-style cage, mini-tubbed rear wheel wells, a tubular K-member, aftermarket suspension, and a narrowed 8.8-inch rear axle with a locker and aftermarket axles. It also comes with racing seats, a window net, a parachute system, upgraded brakes, and braided brake lines.

The car starts, runs, and moves under its own power but remains an unfinished project. Electrical wiring, gauges, and other finishing work are still required. It has a clear title, has never been wrecked, and has been stored indoors.
