1st gen black 1965 Ford Mustang Indy 500 Pace Car For Sale.
Ford’s most rarest production Mustang ever, an original, numbers matching 1965 Mustang Indianapolis 500 pace car. Less that 180 of these examples were made. The car still includes it’s early model 260 V8 with early model C4 automatic transmission. The car runs and drives, but definitely needs work. The original paint color of the car was “Pace Car White” as seen in the VIN code of “C” with white interior with blue accents “42”. However, previous owner had the car painted black, in which is now chipping and showing the original white color under. The interior needs work, swapped to correct blue seats and accents. Motor runs fine, but may need a rebuild to freshen it up. Transmission shifts fine, and car runs fine on the road. All electrical systems work, power steering works, and lights function properly. Drivers door mechanism needs to be redone as it’s currently unhooked inside. Minimal rust for a car of this age. Rust only visible on the edges of the wheel well arches.
