1st gen Candy Apple Red 1968 Ford Mustang CS 289 V8 For Sale.

This 1968 Ford Mustang CS, California Special with the VIN # 8R01C150267, was manufactured in March of 1968 at the Ford plant in San Jose and delivered to the Ford Dealership Geary Motor Sales Company in San Francisco in that period. Between 2010 and 2012, the CS was restored. In 2014 the car was sold to a collector and current owner.

Finished in classic Candy Apple Red with Black Interior and black vinyl top, it comes with the 289 ciV-8 Engine, Power Steering, Tilt-Away Steering Wheel, Automatic Transmission, Center-Console, Marti Report, and a copy of the original Ford Invoice from 1968. The odometer shows 41,177 miles, believe to be original.

Ford initially planned to create 5,000 of these vehicles in a five and half months stretch from February to August 1968. However, only 4,188 were produced. The California Special sports the qualities of both a Mustang coupe and a Shelby GT. A rare factory limited Edition Mustang, making it one of the most appreciated classic Mustangs.
